Open Call for Oral Presentations and Posters

We are pleased to announce the Open Call for Oral Presentations and Posters for the upcoming the Workshop Nonlinear Cell Photonics (ICON-W), to be held between April 2nd and 4th 2025 in the Valrose Theatre at UniCA. This meeting will bring together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from diverse fields to explore the interdisciplinary aspects of Life Sciences best investigated with the contribution of Photonics, Mathematical Modelling, Chemistry and Biochemistry. We invite submissions that address topics related to these topics (see below for details) and encourage contributions that present innovative research, theoretical advancements, case studies, or industry perspectives.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline for Oral Presentations:March 17th, 2025

Submission Deadline for Posters: March 17th, 2025

    Notification of Acceptance: March 20th , 2025

    Registration Deadline (free but mandatory):March 24th, 2025

    Conference Dates:April 2nd - 4th

Submission Guidelines

Papers

We welcome original research contributions in the form of short, 15’ presentations. Submitted abstracts must not exceed one page in length, including figures, tables, and references. All papers will be peer-reviewed by the organizingcommitteeAbstracts will be visible online for all conference participants

Poster Session

The poster session offers a unique opportunity for young researchers to present and discuss their work in an informal, interactive setting. Poster submissions should include a one-page abstract summarising the research, including key objectives, methods, and findings. Posters will be reviewed by the organizing committee, and accepted abstracts will be visible online for all conference participants.

Submission Process

All submissions must be made through the platformPlease ensure that you use the ICON_template provided on the conference website. Submissions should be in PDF format.

For any questions regarding the submission process, please contact the conference organisers at icon@univ-cotedazur.fr

Topics of Interest Include (but are not limited to)

  • Photonics for stimulation and detection of functional cell properties, or mechanical cell characterization in conjuction to its mathematical modelling
  • Photonics techniques for the Life and Health Sciences for research and biomedical applications
  • Innovative devices for research and biomedical applications
  • Amplification of fluorescence through functionalized materials and structures, and advanced electromagnetic modelling
  • Detection of cellular characteristics and evolution by phase encoding to study deformation, growth, motion, reaction to external stimuli; related mathematical modelling belongs to this topic
  • Enhanced analysis of photonic data from advanced AI techniques for in-depth and real-time detection of cellular features

Review Process

Submissions will undergo a review by the organizing committee. Accepted papers and posters will be selected based on relevance, originality, technical quality, and clarity of presentation.

  • Best Poster Award: An award will also be given to the Best Poster based on design, content, and clarity.
